Who We Are

Animal Instinct Advertising founders are Dennis Rutherford and Greg Newberry. Dennis has over 20 years of experience as an award-winning senior art director and creative director working on behalf of some of the country’s leading corporations and brands. Greg has over 20 years experience as a senior account executive and strategic marketer. He’s also an award-winning writer, creative director, producer, commercial director and filmmaker. In addition to his advertising career, he’s optioned three screenplays to Hollywood producers.

Prior to forming Animal Instinct Advertising, Dennis and Greg worked on a wide range of clients such as Procter and Gamble, U.S. Bank, Roto-Rooter, Gorilla Glue, LensCrafters, Fifth Third Bank, International Paper, Foundation for a Better Life, General Electric and Heinz Pet Food.

In addition to Dennis and Greg, our team consists of award-winning advertising professionals from the various disciplines of strategic marketing, copywriting, art direction, design, web design, event planning, promotions, production, cinematography, photography, editing, animating and commercial direction.

Between them, they represent over 50 years of destination marketing/entertainment experience for clients such as the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Cincinnati Museum Center, Cincinnati Zoo, Paramount Kings Island, Tall Stacks, Purple People Bridge Climb, Aronoff Center for the Arts, ATP Tennis Tournament, Downtown Cincinnati Inc., Cincinnati International Film Festival, CincyLatino Festival, Cincinnati Art Museum, Taft Museum, Cincinnati Nature Center as well as the Greater Cincinnati Convention and Visitors Bureau.

In short, we “get it.” The snazziest creative on the planet falls flat unless it’s successful in enticing someone to visit.

It would be difficult to find this depth and level of destination marketing expertise at any other single resource anywhere in the country. Our goal is to add to this expertise with professionals from around the world, harness it and focus it on becoming the leading advertising expert and resource in the zoo and aquarium industry on an international scale.

In the future, this website will serve as a clearing house for photography, footage, research, advertising campaigns and marketing expertise so clients can not only share information and access the latest developments in marketing communications - they can save costs, recoup costs and share costs.

If this sounds like an innovative, bold approach to marketing and advertising, you’re probably the kind of client we’d like to hear from.
